Male guests have too much vocal fry!
I just started listening to this podcast with the Elizabeth Holmes episode (which was excellent). I haven’t noted that the interviewer intereupts too often like others have mentioned. However, ALL OF THE MALE GUESTS seem to do that whole vocal fry/low-talking thing (similar to Vice News), so if you are listening at a normal volume level, you hear the interviewer just fine but the interviewees are barely discernable because they are swallowing their own sentences. It’s too bad because the subsequent podcasts have seemed interesting. I’m not a millenial and I guess vocal fry is unfortunately here to stay (lookin’ at you NPR), I just wish that the sound editors would compensate for this fact.
