“I lived in a France many years ago and since I left, I’ve kept up my language skills by listening to podcasts, news, etc. In over 10 years, I have never found a podcast as interesting as this one.
Hugo discusses questions that are genuinely interesting about French culture, history, and language. He seems to understand that just because our language skills are rudimentary, our intellectual skills are not. He never dumbs down his topics. Rather than relying on stereotypes, he often “unpacks” them, exploring their origins and discussing the way French people relate to them today. All of this amounts to a podcast that gives the listener a window into the real culture of contemporary France.”
