The most instructive and educational podcast today
Tremaine Lee has a soothing, captivating voice… His insightful observations on race in America are unparalleled. The most recent season about an ingenious former slave in DC, who was able to obtain reparations for his family just prior to the emancipation proclamation, when it was meant for only white slave owners at that time, explores how this clever transaction benefited future generations of an African American family, and gives us instructive and glaringly obvious proof that reparations can be beneficial for all Americans. It needs to happen yesterday. (Not that it matters but no, I am not of African descent. I’m white but I’ve always felt that reparations are necessary.)Highly recommend!!! Ps: re: Wilbers death - how can a man shoot himself twice in the head? And through a straw hat? Idk that sounds kinda sus… Did yt people cover up the reporting of lynchings and call them “suicides”? He was the richest black man in the parish but “was a bad man in this country”? Because he was rich?

I’m always listening for narratives that answer the question, why? This podcast tells a story of why. The best part is, the story is complicated. Great production. Good listening! I was captivated.

Excellent interview with, Stacy! This should be a no brained for Joe Biden. He needs her. We need her.

I needed to hear that discussion and some answers to those questions. Many of us are grappling with the JB issue, but I heard some things on this podcast that will help me sort it out.
