Tone deaf
Just completely misguided and borderline racist at points. Chasing down a smuggler in Iraq as part of the BBC, the national broadcast of one of the first three countries to illegally invade and destroy that place wondering why there’s dangerous smuggling happening. No critical thought at all about why this industry exists and how much more dangerous these two individuals made it for a time with their reckless pursuit of this story. Who knows how many lives they endangered in this process and how many desperate migrants missed the chance of getting somewhere safe due to their interference during all this. So much focus on the lifestyle and drug use of this one man while they parade freely across the Middle East and see no irony in the privilege. Just left me scratching my head.
