Description
Hello and welcome back to the Irish Tennis Updates Podcast. In this episode I’m chatting to Garreth Greene. Garreth is Ireland’s number one wheelchair tennis player, and is currently ranked inside the top 100, at number 92. He is targeting qualification for the 2024 Paris Paralympics. We talk about Garreth’s tennis journey, from finding the game at 28 to competing in the Irish Open, to winning his first professional singles title in Switzerland earlier this year. We also discuss the state of wheelchair tennis in Ireland at the moment, what we could be doing better, and how the global game is going from strength to strength and the exposure that wheelchair tennis is getting these days. I think this is an amazing episode and I’m sure that after you listen you’ll be wishing Garreth the very best for his tennis journey over the next couple of years.
