“From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for promoting sobriety at times throughout life. I have first hand lived and first hand seen what alcohol can do to individuals, families and communities. It can be such a taboo subject to suggest sobriety and labelled as the norm to drink in our culture. So thank you for discussing this and allowing others to hear that this too can be normal to have breaks and practice some sobriety in life. I took a break from drinking at 23 and for my own person choices decided to continue and am going on 5 years now, it changed my life and mental health in many ways. For someone as young as George to discuss this topic is admirable and potentially eye opening for others. I still go out sober with friends and can still enjoy many events without a drink, just as George has mentioned.
Throughout your podcasts I have heard many important normal life, yet potentially taboo subjects brought up and this is so valuable for others to hear. This has allowed people like myself to hear that this too is normal for others to go through in life. I began listening when I was post baby number 1 and had horrendous PNA, I would wait weekly for a podcast to come out and when I pressed play for the next hour usually while I water my lawn I no longer felt so alone and would often laugh and smirk at how relatable a lot of things seemed to be. In a world where social media and television denies us to view things in a realistic way you have all come to the table authentically and for that, I just really want to say thank you.”
