A compilation of It's House Music! founder/host Tamer's 54 favourite Nile Rodgers & Bernard Edwards produced Chic records. Known and lesser known, mainly their earlier work, sometimes an edit or (Dimitri From Paris) remix that elevated the original, and more common: the 12-inch mixes or the previously unreleased, original Chic mixes with extended solo's and full-blown orchestration. Back in the day, these superior versions were oftentimes stripped-down and shortened on record label orders for commercial reasons, until Nile Rodgers took the original Chic mixes off the shelves for their long overdue release, respectively in 2003 and 2010. Also included in this top are Chic's productions for Sister Sledge, Diana Ross, Norma Jean Wright, Fonzi Thornton and Sheila & B. Devotion. As an ode to Studio 54, where Nile & Bernard were part of the furniture back in the day, it's a countdown from 54 to 1. In between records you'll regularly hear audio of actual studio recording sessions with Nile, Bernard and the rest of the Chic Organization, while crafting these gems that'll last forever.
