“Wow!! This was a show truly loved and enlightening. I’m from the North where we’re mostly about NFL and diehard college alumni but mostly NFL. “We” I speak for many northerners had NO IDEA high school football was so important down south. We knew college football was a big southern love but high school? How enlightening. But as you know, this show was and wasn’t about football. It was about the lives of those in Dillon. The pressure PRESSURE put on the shoulders of these children. Seeing both sides of the tracks (as they say) was real. You all are the perfect cast. You all made the film. Keep reminding us when you use actors names who they play because we know you mostly by your characters. Watching the relationships the teenagers had with their parents had us grabbing our hearts. You all nailed it what high school is like The pressure on the coach to deliver a winning team and be a parent to these kids we could feel his weight. Seeing how it affects his wife and daughter, amazing. My favorite scene was when Coach turned to you, “Matt”and told you that you’re going in, NOW!! Jason was hurt We knew you’d never have seen that day coming in your wildest dreams. You thought you’d just be throwing your football threw the tire with your bff. I really really hope you cover that scene because you were brilliant. The look on Matt’s face when he was being asked by Coach after telling him he’s going in and the play he was to do and coach said, “you know that play?” And with such terror on your face answering “yes sir”. Then when you threw the ball and it hit helmets! I had no idea a QB needs to learn to throw a ball high it’s not just natural. You made us feel!!!! And Jason, when the team came to see you and you had to fake that brave face was heart wrenching. You nailed it. I know you helped so many people who were injured like you. It happened in my high school one of our defense players dove off a slide into a pool and was paralyzed from the neck down. I remember the day they wheeled him out. I was Pom Pom girl so we were around him. You could feel his pain. I kept thinking , is this really a good idea”. Watching you go through that was incredible. The open is brilliant. it brings us into Dillon as if we lived there too. Which we were while we watch. Thank you for this podcast. Take your time and share it all how you felt doing scenes and behind the scenes stories.”
