JACI: In Practice Editor Robert Zeiger describes the October issue, the theme of which is “Newer Diagnostic Methods in Allergy”. Theme topics covered include assessing indoor allergen exposures; laboratory tests in the diagnosis of food, venom, and drug allergies; epitope-based IgE assays and their role in the diagnosis of food allergies; chip-based assays in the diagnosis of allergic diseases; the basophil activation test; the normal range of baseline tryptase; and specific IgE cut-off levels.
