Welcome to Jazz Piano Skills. It's time to discover, learn, and play jazz piano! Today’s podcast will be quite different from what I typically do regularly. We won’t study any specific jazz piano skill, analyze and digest a tune, or visit with a special guest. Instead, I want to devote today’s podcast episode to looking back over the past four-plus years - a historical summary of how Jazz Piano Skills got started, the various jazz piano skills taught, the teaching approach used, and why. I then want to look forward to the future of Jazz Piano Skills and share the format and approach I will use starting with the new year. I am very excited because it’s our opportunity to take a breather to look back and encapsulate what we have accomplished, AND to look forward so we can get fired up about and prepare for the next chapter of our amazing jazz piano journey!
