Pretty Decent
Pros - Lovely hosts - Fairly informative - Skims over nonessentials whilst not ignoring them - British accents sound great to these Aussie ears - Appropriate content warnings where appropriate and always respectful of others. Cons - Lengthy episodes (I consider ~40-60 minutes to be a good length for a podcast episode). - Sound volume is iffy at times. - Occasionally inaccurate or misses something. I don't blame Kieran; I'm sure I'd miss plenty more than he does if I did something similar, but it can be a little annoying nevertheless. - Podcast name is a misnomer, which is a pity, because it's a fantastic name. - At times Kieran really shills the Patreon. If I'm being honest, I should be giving the podcast three stars, since I like it but don't look forwards to it or get excited about it the same way I do some other podcasts I listen to. That being said, at time of writing I've listened to around 100 episodes, so what do I know? I think it's because I already know the majority of information that's being spoken and so there's not a whole lot here which is new to me. With that being said, it's a very informative podcast that's entertaining to listen to. I don't know how many other people listen to podcasts the same way that I do (start at episode one and continue from there), so if you're the type of person who jumps around podcast episodes a lot it'd be fantastic for quickly learning about characters you're interested in. As such, I'd recommend this more to new comic book fans or people trying to get into comic books than people who already know a lot about comic books, since it feels as though they'd get more out of it. Nevertheless, keep up the great work, guys.

This is so much fun to listen to. Kieran and Helena have a great chemistry and her reactions to the events of comics that came out years and years ago always makes me want to track those stories down and reread them.

Every episode of JiM is thorough, well researched, and adorable. The hosts are sharing a topic they love with each other, and the audience, and it shows. Plus, I learned things even after 30 years of comic reading!
