Having worked for 15 years working for the Arts Council England, Denise felt she had no choice but to resign, following what a targeted campaign of bullying and harassment because she made it clear that she did not approve of the LGB Alliance being referred to as the ‘Ku Klux Clan’ of the LGBT movement in a meeting. When a petition was circulated to all staff on the company's intranet objecting to ACE employing people like Denise, who many of her colleagues declared to be 'transphobic', it was clear she had to get out, and, subsequently, take action.
