“This story is just beginning, but I am so caught up in it that I was upset when I learned I had already listened to all the available episodes. I was prepared to binge listen to eight or ten episodes, to laugh and weep right along with the storytellers. I am sure I will have more to say about this podcast further down the road but I wanted to encourage listeners to give it a try. The subject matter is one that we all have to face at some point in our journey. And one of the big questions is how we will choose to face our death. Will we ignore it until illness or accident overwhelm us and we are swept away on a tide of discomfort and confusion. Or will we plan our death, talk openly about it, make our surroundings beautiful, leave notes and recordings for our loved ones and go out as conscious and aware as possible. Or is it possible that no matter what we would like that death may surprise us in our sleep, in the grocery store or on some train tracks. Who knows. But what a joy to be able to visit with a woman of vision who is trying to make the most of a difficult situation. The laughter and joy of the people around Julie who talk about her and to her is palpable. This is a great effort by some truly courageous people to give voice to our great silence - death. It is more joyous than you might think. I hope you give it a try.”
