“Hey guys. I’ve been listening to the podcast since you launched. I am transitioning into the brand strategy space, coming from a strategic digital marketing background. (& franchise consultancy before that). Your podcast has really helped me to make that decision & understand where my work in the past actually fits in context to the topic.
I was already asking many of these deeper questions in my strategic work with clients, but finding that while I was solving bigger problems for clients in terms of their alignment of their business objectives with what they wanted to “put out there” from a marketing & comms perspective...they still viewed me as a tactical bandaid. (Ie the one that should just give them the sexy list of social media hacks and not ask too many questions...and especially the “why” question).
By listening to you, your guests & your wonderful way of exploratory discussions on wide areas of the “Brand” topic - it’s helped me to realise that I’m not positioning myself clear enough. My work isn’t being wholly taken on board as much as I would like.
Thank you for introducing me to Marty Neumeier - his body of work has been evolutionary for me. And then spurred me on to other people’s work/approaches. I am slowly finding what my new “way” is for this field - like wearing a lovely newly dry-cleaned favourite jacket.
I have listened to many podcasts on branding since & so far, none have come close to your genuinely curious and valuable tone.
