“Joe Sweeny interviews entrepreneurial founders of startups who have “Just Raised” millions of dollars to fund young companies building unique and interesting new technologies.
A typical example is his interview with Nico Barawid, the founder and CEO of Casai, an AirBNB-like startup focussed on Latin American. Where it starts to get interesting is when Nico describes how they use Machine Learning to track the cleanliness of their hundreds, (soon to be thousands?), of apartments.
Cleaning people take pictures of the apartments after they’ve been cleaned and sanitized. Casai’s back-end technology then certifies that the space looks like it does in the advertisements. This is a level of corporate governance over apartment hosts that we haven’t seen from AirBNB.
What drives this show is the deep dive into how entrepreneurs push the boundaries of innovation by applying new technologies to existing problems.
What moves it from theory to real world applications is that Joe is interviewing people who have proven themselves in the marketplace by raising millions of dollars from venture capitalists. (Casai raised $24 million).
