Vocal fry gang analysis is an inch deep
This is not an easy podcast to listen to, speaking as a near-non-partisan who actually enjoys the Chris Matthews’ type of horserace coverage. (I’ve listened to 5 full episodes now.) The host and guests on the show are so utterly in-the-moment and simply processing chaos on-the-fly, without much historical or moral grounding (note these are the major differences from a Chris Matthews), that one leaves each episode even more bewildered than the participants. There’s such lack of conviction and authority here, every sentence seems to end with an omg vocal-fry that becomes really grating as it piles up. It feels like what’s missing is some research before an episode, and a plan on how the host would like to guide the listener. Even better would be some juicy analysis and bullet-points, ala a Bill Simmons.

These guys have put together a smart podcast, cutting through a lot of the usual political rhetoric, however the incessant shuffling of poker chips is distracting and annoying. Stop that and this is a pod I will share with others
