“I love Mark Kermode, I really do… I even shook one of his big flappy hands at the Phoenix Cinema, East Finchley after a talk… so I will always give 5-stars for ‘his’ quality. However, I’m not sure it needs to be so high in the file itself. I’m sure some better compression prior to upload to iTunes could avoid the 500+Mb download required for us to watch just 7mins of Kermode Uncut. It’s not about download time, it’s that the latest laptop hard drive sizes aren’t what they used to be; just a joyful dozen podcasts from my favourite contributor can start to take up many Gb. I subscribe to other podcasters that give me good video/sound quality a tenth of this size. C’mon Beeb, you’ve got the best engineers - you can improve this. The quality is already in the Good Doctor’s words, it doesn’t need to be in a file good enough to screen at the IMAX. Please forgive this minor quibble, everything else is great... and hello to Jason Isaacs.”
