Good guests, but if you’re looking for something to help you think about an issue you’re out of luck
This podcast is expertly put together and has some expert guests, who actually have done things within the political spectrum. However, as a young independent with some liberal leanings, this podcast just really misses the mark for what I was looking for. This is very much a conservative podcast for conservatives set in their ways. Many of the jokes are based on stereotypes (of politicians and voters) and appearances of Democrat politicians. I listened to the millennial episode and while it was interesting to see what a Republican polling expert and author thought about my generation. Unfortunately, there were huge generalizations and jokes; a lot of them made by the host. I understand the point of a conservative podcast, that’s why I sought it out, because I realized I was surrounded by liberal thinkers and wanted another opinion. However considering the entire podcast was about how the republican should attract people like me, nothing they really said (besides a very brief mention of the college debt crisis) was something that excited me. I mean the podcast did not take my generation seriously. The host actually asks: “What’s the break through stunt that will win this generation?” I’m really not trying to be won by a stunt; I’m trying to get more information. In general, that sums up how I feel about this podcast: There’s a generational disconnect. Even when they’re trying to use terms like “hipster” or referencing Taylor Swift, they seem to miss the point. Everything almost feels like they’re laughing at their younger audiences. I really wouldn’t recommend it to anyone my age.
