Thank you for telling Crystal’s story
After finishing the last episode I had to read some of the reviews and I guess I listened to a different podcast because I haven’t a clue what you’ll that are tanking the reviews are talking about. This is an excellent investigative journalist podcast. Domestic/violence abuse isn’t black and white. She was a child and victim who committed a horrific crime against her abuser, and yes many victims kill their abusers in their sleep. This is not new. Her non-physically abusive parent also gave up on her. Was she difficult, a handful, rebellious, lashing out? YES. But no one helped her. We live in a Country that believes we should throw people away for life when our criminal justice system is supposed to be about punishment and REFORM. She pled guilty as a teenager. She had mitigating circumstances. Her public defender failed her. 30 years to life is no a just sentence. She deserves a second chance.

Would be better if someone else told the story. Recordings have bad tones that wear on you by episode 2.
