The Jesus and Mary Chain’s William Reid joins Kyle Meredith to talk about the band’s new LP, Glasgow Eyes. The guitarist/songwriter tells us how the brothers had to restart recording the album from scratch after their engineer lost the entire original album, how this record lines up with their 40th anniversary and how it speaks to their career, and their eclectic list of influences, which includes prog rock and the Eagles. Reid goes on to discuss how his technical limitations have always driven the band’s sound, why they wrote a tribute to Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground to close out the album, and an update on their upcoming biography, which may come out later this year or next.
