Truly Great with moments of cringe
So smart and innovative. Lots of their questions are really incisive. But then there are moments of — idk. Hyper creativity?? Sometimes Amanda takes on this overly dramatic(/trying too hard maybe?) tone of The Podcaster, full of vibrato and rich tones. And they get gimmicky. I had to stop listening to the LaVar Burton ep first of all because she kept interrupting the interview to talk about how she loves his voice ??? Yes, we KNOW about mr. Burton’s voice; you are not the first person to notice. But more importantly, because they created this whole conceit into which they plugged in his answers. It came off like they were minimizing the importance/ reality of what he was talking about: in this case, unequal treatment of black people by police. Or maybe they put it in there because they thought we weren’t interested in what Mr. Burton had to say, and they had to make it more interesting? The podcast is excellent outside of all the cringe, though. I’ll probably keep listening. Maybe they’re just very young.

More reviews of Labyrinths with Amanda Knox
So. 1: “This isn’t fight club” *story about Comic Con fistfight*! There are so many hilarious, weird, heartfelt, surprising anecdotes. I’ll definitely be tuning in to the next episode

I’ve been fascinated by the story of Amanda Knox (and, by extension, her husband) since her ill-conceived trial and subsequent exoneration for murder in Italy. I had a similar experience (although not as serious a charge as murder) in the late 2000s.

Each week Amanda and Chris have an interesting guest. Conversations are always casual and flowing but with structure. The topics are interesting and relevant to my own life. I am really proud of Amanda and happy for her. So many podcasts are pointless and stupid; this one is a keeper. Thanks guys!!🥊
