“Question for mailbag: no one is old enough to remember this but the boxing match between Sugar Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns in 1981 had the knockout artist (Hearns) vs the boxer (Leonard). Early on Hearns was stalking and looking for a knockout. However, Leonard hurt Hearns in the fifth and looked finish him off, but then the unexpected happened. Hearns turned into a boxer and could dance and jab with impunity. Clearly Leonard was not suited to handle this and only won when Hearns slipped up and returned to his stalking style. My question is: do you think the Lakers can be both the stalkers and the dance-around boxers?
Also, do you think Westbrook can hit the Nets with lots of penetration, whether successful or not, to effectively be likened to body shots in boxing. Then LeBron can also do a few less body blows, and then by the end of the game, the Nets will lower their hands where the Lakers can hit them with a knockout punch?”
