First Review I’ve Ever Felt Compelled to Write
I was late to discovering this podcast despite my friends’ insistence that I take it up. That said, I am so thankful that all their past episodes are available. I love this podcast so much that I’ve begun listening to the entire series from the beginning. I started this endeavor in March 2021. As of late April, I’ve gotten through a year’s worth of episodes from 2016-17; not one minute of any episode has felt boring or outdated. I hope that Bowen and Matt (and HPJ, etc.) achieve new heights of fame and fortune because they deserve it and bring laughter to their readers. I truly hope the series never ends. I have to remark on my two favorite comedic moments so far. Once, a guest asked the anatomical name for the space between your thumb and index finger. Without missing a beat, Bowen said your “smashmouth” since in that band’s song “All Stars,” you put those fingers in an L shape on your forehead. Another standout moment was when a guest asked for the German word for when a podcast guest is waiting comment but can’t because they haven’t been introduced yet. Again, without missing a beat, Bowen said “Berghain”-ing which is the Berlin club famous for having a frustratingly long line. While these two moments happen to have both been comments made by Bowen, Matt is also wonderfully funny and entertaining. Please keep it going!!
