“I love this podcast!
The fact that the hosts are friends/family who genuinely like each other is really endearing.
For what sounds like a few guys sat around a dinner table together, the show is also incredibly well produced, comparable to some LA based studio shows.
The best part however is how lore focussed it remains.
Whilst the guys occasionally go off on tangents, Darren has a well prepared and scripted story to tell in each episode, so he can always pull it back on track.
Unlike similar shows, this one feels more story based, running through the excellent source material in a smooth narrative, that often makes it feel more like a well told Warhammer audiobook than an unfocused, casual chat.
I never played Warhammer Fantasy, nor will I at this point, but learning about the world through Laying Down the Lore is brilliant fun!”

“As a fan of the Warhammer universe, I can say that this podcast is not only very lore heavy, but presented in such a way as to be inviting to even non-fans. A podcast that never overstays its welcome. Three likable guys, with obvious chemistry talking high fantasy nerd stuff…what’s not to like?”
