Insightful, revealing, persuasive
‘Nixon at War’ is insightful, revealing and persuasive in its ultimate argument that the roots of the current bitterly divided, partisan, nature of US politics has its roots in Nixon’s toxic (and in key areas, illegal) self-serving strategies regarding the Vietnam War, more than any other single factor. What he bequeathed to his nation - and what has been utilised by others for comparable ends - is hugely responsible for the ‘culture wars’ that still divide the USA and threaten the future of its democratic system in 2021.
