Description
A Zoom sit-down conversation with Heather Smith, MPAS, PA-C, and Owner of Twin Ports Dermatology and The Aesthetic Lounge. Over the next hour, Heather shares with Duluth Pack's CEO, Tom Sega, about her early medical career studies, her immediate interest in the dermatology industry, and eventually becoming an entrepreneur of two surgical and cosmetic clinics based in Minnesota. Due to a personal family emergency, Heather and her husband, Anthony decided to risk it all and serve the Duluth community with a clinic that could immediately see the public regarding skin concerns, questions, and imperfections. Due to ever-growing demand state-wide, in the summer of 2021, the Smiths grew their business beyond the Twin Ports and opened a second location near the Twin Cities called, The Aesthetic Lounge. Heather explains the differences between surgical procedures and cosmetic practices offered at her businesses in addition to the launch of the company’s own private label skincare brand, Optimal Skin. Heather discusses the challenges of COVID and the impacts it took on their business structure, but how they pivoted with great success due to their loyal and consistent client base. Lastly, Heather mentions the importance of skincare regimens and the practices of protecting oneself from blue light rays and UV exposure. Lather on that sunscreen and get ready for an incredibly informative conversation about skincare health. Enjoy this week's episode of Leader of the Pack; a podcast by Duluth Pack.
