Brent is a brilliant teacher, writer, podcaster!
Recently I joined a local monthly amateur jazzsession-group. It’s really great to play with other people. It makes you fully aware playing jazz is like learning to speak a foreign language. For this reason the local coach suggested us all to have a look at LJS, to learn more about jazz as a language. I’m still grateful that he did. Brent Vaartstra, who is the body and soul of LSJ, is excellent in providing a solid foundation in the language of jazz on which to build further (and for those who are up to it, he covers advanced stuff too). Apart from content, Brent’s enthusiasm and clarity is quite addictive… Of course there is some self-advertising, but that’s also in our own interest. After all, buying Brent’s books and joining his courses, help us to get more out of Brent than he would otherwise be able to give. Isn’t it time to proclaim Brent ‘Jazz Teacher of the World’? My guess is: only Brent would object. *****In short: highly recommended!*****
