Best Podcast to Actually Learn Spanish
I’ve listened to a handful of Spanish-learning podcasts, and I have listened to a number of language learning podcasts for other languages, and I feel pretty confident to say that the approach used here, although unconventional, is probably the very best approach for English speakers to learn Spanish. If language teachers of French, German, Dutch, or something else taught English speakers the most difficult and most common things in their languages at the beginning of the process in the way that Tim is doing for English speakers learning Spanish, I think it would be safe to say that those learning those other languages would progress in their comprehension and ability to use the language far more quickly than through other, more conventional approaches. This method of learning Spanish that Tim has created is my first recommendation for someone who wants to really understand the language and get to a level of fluency quickly without wasting time on relatively unimportant trivia that many textbooks would spend inordinate amounts of ink on. Even though I have spent a lot of energy on Spanish in the past, and I am further along in that language than most others, I do feel as though I am grasping key concepts with much more clarity than I ever had before through Tim’s approach. I greatly appreciate the way that grammar is explained through concrete examples that are used consistently throughout. Using the “eat” test for verbs and the “food” test for nouns is extremely helpful, especially but not only for someone who has never learned a foreign language before, but also for those who are familiar with learning languages. This part of the method is a very simple way of reviewing how parts of speech function in general, and specifically in Spanish, as you are beginning to learn how words and sentences all work together to create meaning. If you’re not interested in actually learning Spanish, understanding it and using it, then don’t listen. But if you have tried learning Spanish through other podcasts or means and you haven’t gotten where you wanted to, blaze through some lessons in LearnCraft Spanish. Apply each one as you’re learning, and you’ll be happily surprised at your comprehension and progress.

I really like the podcast for it’s focus on the most frequently used words to start. The words are important building blocks to understanding the Spanish language and LearnCraft does an excellent job of explaining them rather than starting off with typical phrases that have minimal real world...Read full review »

So far, I’m really enjoying this podcast. I can already tell that it’s completely different than any other Spanish course I’ve ever taken. I like how this course focuses on the most frequently used words in the Spanish language rather than just teaching phrases or greetings that can’t get me very...Read full review »

This is a step by step guide where each episode builds on the previous. Instead of learning a bunch of vocabulary, the process begins with the hardest part of the language - structure and grammar. Timothy explains the why and differences of the Spanish and English language in each episode. He...Read full review »
