Terrible delivery!
The subject matter is interesting but each series is seriously marred by the host’s voice and enunciation. I’ve listened to 3 series but almost bouncing off the walls because I found him so irritating; now I’m going to give my ears a break & reboot some sanity before I try again. Pity, because the stories are quite good and certainly of interest. No original journalism, of course, which seems to be almost always the case with Wondery which just synopsises some book on a particular subject. Nothing wrong with that in itself but you’d think the company would then at least pay its listeners the respect of NOT hiring a narrator who sounds like a screeching banshee. Also, his attempts at dialogue are laughable as he can only do one voice. He, or his employers, ought to listen to some of the many really great narrators to be found on Audible, whether American or British, and learn how it’s done!

I'm really enjoying this podcast for it's content, and the hosts voice is very good, but any other voice work, in the background or secondary character, is so low in volume and tone it makes the material hard to hear. If this is fixed, I think i would re-evaluate my rating.Read full review »

I really wanted to like this podcast. The premise is really interesting but the ridiculous reenactments and over the top delivery made it impossible. This would be a great show if they didn't try to make it sound like a bad TMZ episode.Read full review »
