I appreciate the opinions, but often it is apparent that the hosts do not know much about the houses, perfumes, or people of whom they speak. For instance, they have repeatedly bashed Luca Turin, and last episode one member even remarked that Turin’s reviews do not hold much weight because Turin does not back up his reviews with any cultural context or perfume history. However, much of Turin’s perfume writing is in fact placed within a cultural and historic framework, and furthermore, Turin almost single-handedly put certain indie houses on the map and called out designer houses who were trying to pull the wool over the consumers’ eyes by selling them overhyped derivative swill. It’s just lazy podcasting to not know these facts and only contributes to the unfettered world of misinformation.
