Meandering Nonsense in The Most Fun Way
Less Is Morgue was something I had stalled on participating in. I first learned about it from the Diregentleman channel and their fun series Terrible Writing Advice but I was busy with work and I didn’t find the time for podcasts. I have now learned to regret this decision. This show is a solid series. The characters are fun and quickly become endearing. My favorite parts where when they just vibed while they waiting for the guest star to arrive. Some of my favorite episodes just focused on the two of them. Riley is such a riot, sometimes they would just make an odd comment about the injustices of society and I would bust a gut. Eveline as well, she’s just so positive and sweet that when she has a dark moment it’s hilarious. Honestly all of the writing is pretty top notch. Even when a joke didn’t land for me I never found it annoying, it just wasn’t my vibe. And there’s some subtle character growth throughout the story. It’s interesting to watch our favorite Ghoul-friend soften up just a smidge while remaining consistent. Now, all of that being said this isn’t exactly a perfect show. There’s some technical problems that bug me once in a while, though nothing great. Most podcasts I’ve watched—rehearsed or otherwise—will allow characters to talk over each other to allow the conversation to feel more realistic, because that’s what people do. Here you can feel the spaces of silence in between the lines, but it’s only a little distracting. There is one story aspect that I don’t like and that is the character Todd. Now, I get what they’re going for, and sometimes it will work but he drags the pace of the bit by a lot. All of the other characters are super-fast with the delivery of the punch line but Todd takes his sweet time to get there, a lot of time, very much a lot, like really slow in a way that brings things to a halt, like this incredibly long sentence I have made, you know, the one with all of the commas, yeah. I may have cheered a little when the announcer gave me hope that he would not return. Todd slandering aside, this podcast was great, I really missed out by not tuning in. It’s been close to a year without new episodes but one of the creators has started a new podcast called Kingmaker. Guess what? It’s pretty good so far. I’m happy for the memories though, even if there are no more episodes it was still a fun time. This gets my thumbs up.

This show has a sharp, dark sense of humor paired with an extremely lovable cast that you can’t help but root for even as they devour a pizza boy. I can’t wait for the third episode, this is one of my new favorite shows. #ollominoto

As an admittedly anti-social person with a sense of gallows humor that my spouse is forced to explain to friends on a regular basis, this podcast is a perfect complement to my personality. It is hilarious, gripping and truly original. Keep it up folks
