This podcast is a companion to the electronic cigarettes Cochrane living systematic review and shares the evidence from the monthly searches. In the June episode Jamie Hartmann-Boyce talks with Professor Thomas Brandon from the University of Southern Florida and the Moffitt Cancer Center on his team's new study published in Lancet Public Health. This study is a randomised control trial and investigates the effect of tailored advice to dual users of combustible and electronic cigarettes on how to use their electronic cigarette to quit combustible cigarettes. This targeted self-help intervention with high potential for dissemination could be efficacious in promoting smoking cessation among dual users of combustible cigarettes and e-cigarettes. We will include the results in our Cochrane review. For more information on the study see: Martinez 2021 (https://www.thelancet.com/pdfs/journals/lanpub/PIIS2468-2667(20)30307-8.pdf).
