•Rev. Lawrence C. Roberts born in Newark, NJ, August 1936. He had a love for Gospel Music at an early age. By age eleven, he played for his first choir, at the Zion Hill Baptist Church, Newark, NJ.  He attended the Newark Public School System, graduating from its prestigious Arts High School. •1953, Lawrence Roberts became the "first" Black Gospel Record Company Producer in the country. Through his efforts he enabled Savoy Record Company to become a totally Gospel Label, ending its rhythm and blues status.  While there Rev. Roberts produced some of America's greatest gospel artists: the Clara Ward Singers, Alex Bradford, James Cleveland, the Roberta Martin Singers to name a few. •His greatest collaboration was with Rev. James Cleveland where with the Angelic Choir (which Rev. Roberts founded & organized) recorded and produced 14 of the greatest albums in Gospel Music History “Peace Be Still” one of those top albums. ·Rev.
