Re: Squid Game in Translation
I was delighted to hear a coverage of Korean language, but the pronunciation of almost every vowels were bastardized by the hosts. Instead of trying to do the bare minimum of comparing their sound against the show’s speaker, they decided to read them as if they are reading English words. For example, the first syllable of “mukbang” is pronounced as “muck-”, not “mook-“. After the third or fourth of these errors, I stopped listening. Instead of clarifying the horrible translation they talk about, they add to the misrepresentation.

Love the Podcast. Have been listening to Bob Garfield for years on his On the Media radio show/podcast. This is just a very entertaining show and if you are at all interested in language this is the Podcast for you.

I first heard about the Scrabble episode, and after listening to that I went back and listened to them all. Great podcast! Please continue creating these!
