J spine
I have her wonderful book. I’m a yogini who has gone barefoot or flip flops, flats all neutral shoes + a minimalist shoe wearer for over 15 years. I started to have issues with my low back + SIJ. Sought numerous professionals, have done everything strengthened my glutes, hams, adductors, abductors, etc. BUT when I went to a concert I wore 4” wedge platforms + stood for 2 hours. Guess what, that nagging lower lumbar pain + SIJ disappeared! Which brought to discover that it brought my pelvis in a slight/normal anterior tilt + my spine had a “J”.shape.. ah ha. I’ve been sitting, standing, doing yoga with so called neutral “S” spine. SO I now alternate with flat’s, and wedge heels, and have gone to a running shoe that has a slight POSITIVE heel + now am doing so much better. So when certain biomechanist make claims that we need to throw away positive heels that our pelvis cannot be neutral need to understand that is not true for all people and in fact can cause further damage, me being one of them. When I got this book I realized I’m not crazy. Thank you for your incredible podcasts, so happy that I can walk + listen in my POSITIVE heel shoes. :)

More reviews of Liberated Being
I am a yoga therapist and doctoral student in occupational therapy. I was recently introduced to liberated body while working for a clinic in Seattle. There is so much good stuff in here -- it'll take me all year to get through it! Will there be another season? Hope so and THANK YOU!

I live in a state sold on movies & commercial food for fun, a pill & rest for pains, & a gym for furthering the abuse of self image. I'm dyslexic so rely heavily on direct,...Read full review »
