HERE TO TALK ABOUT THE LATEST ADVANCES IN CARE FOR PEOPLE WITH LUNG CANCER, ARE DR. LEORA HORN FROM VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY AND PATIENT ADVOCATE KATIE BROWN FROM LUNGEVITY. 1. Doctor, most people don’t realize that lung cancer isn’t just one disease. Can you tell us more about the major types of lung cancer? 2. Advocate, what should a person do if they or a loved one think they might have lung cancer or are diagnosed with the disease? 3. Katie Brown has worked in nonprofit and patient advocacy for over 16 years. In her current role with LUNGevity, she serves as the foundation’s vice president of support and survivorship programs, social media strategist and is a certified Oncology Patient Navigator. Dr. Horn is a board-certified medical oncologist and currently serves as the Clinical Director of the Thoracic Oncology Program at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. In this role, Dr. Horn has been the Principal Investigator on several lung cancer clinical trials and projects. She has published over 100 papers and book chapters, and is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
