Episode 43: Billy Birmingham - The 12th Man
Listen now
Description
Billy Birmingham is The Twelfth Man. He is also Richie Benaud, Bill Lawry, Ian Chappell, Tony Greig, and dozens of other characters across a series of insanely popular 12th Man records. Between 1984 and 2006, all seven 12th Man albums, plus two singles, landed at #1 on the ARIA chart. It's quite a feat. Here, Billy goes through the recording process for his albums, does a ton of impersonations (Barnesy, Farnesy, Richie) and shows off his new talking stubby holders. This interview was done in November 2011, and has been revived for the podcast era.
