Rebekah Skeete on Shooting Your Shot in Cybersecurity
Listen now
Description
Today’s guest is Rebekah Skeete, Security Engineer at Schellman and Chief Operations Officer at Black Girls Hack. After Black Hat, a mutual friend told me I had to hear Rebekah’s story. And is indeed incredible. From parking lot attendant for the Texas Rangers to the mail room, with a side hustle in political campaign management, to the IT help desk and beyond. Her path, like so many I’ve spoken to, is unconventional. But a few principles stand out: do the job with excellence, be curious and willing to learn, and shoot your shot.
