Trail Blazers lose to Jazz + Anfernee Simons development + Recovering from a slow start
Listen now
Description
The Trail Blazers lost to the Utah Jazz, 120-105, on Wednesday night. Portland was yet again extremely shorthanded and Utah is just a really good team. That is a formula for a loss. Is there more to it than that? Well, not really, but Reggie Perry made his Blazers debut and the former second round pick was a little bright spot in a stretch of discouraging play. That's right, Reggie Perry is getting the first mention in this episode description. It's been that kind of year. Plus a listener asked a question about Anfernee Simons' recent play and how it might impact his future with the franchise. Simons has been in a mini-shooting slump and hasn't stepped up without CJ McCollum in the lineup. Is there reason to be concerned about his long-term development or is this a blip on the map. Or, you know, both. Finally, we close the show looking back at slow starts from recent Blazers seasons and how the team recovered or approached a bad first 35 games. Hint: They made trades. Is it time for this version of the Blazers to take a similar approach and what is the best path forward. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
