“This is probably the worst Braves pod I’ve listened to and I’ve tried just about all of them. The podcast episodes with Grant are a little more interesting, but overall it just doesn’t seem like Jake is a Braves fan. He has no excitement in his voice. It’s just one boring “gear” that’s he’s in at all times. Also, there are no hot takes, and there is no meaningful analysis to be found. These are both essential for a quality sports podcast to keep it fresh and interesting.
It basically amounts to this, Jake will say, “It’s great to see Arcia heating up again” but he won’t go into detail about peripherals like exit velo or launch angle, or perhaps better plate discipline. The podcast is just blanket statements about the “what” instead of the “how” and “why”.
Although it only airs once weekly, I would strongly recommend checking out the flagship show on battery power. It is so much better than this.”
