The Hershey Bears came out strong in game one against the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms, defeating them by a score of 2-1. Despite being outshot 31-28, the Bears were able to capitalize on their opportunities.

The Washington Capitals will have two players representing the team at this year's IIHF World Championships in May. Defenseman Martin Fehervary will be suiting up for Team Slovakia, bringing his solid two-way game to the international stage

The playoffs were a tough ending to an up and down season for the Capitals. After being eliminated in just four games, it was disappointing but good to see the young guys like McMichael and Lapierre step up and play well under the high pressure of the postseason.
