Data is fine but you’re missing the heart
The pace and subject matter is good, but there is no heart. Yes it’s a business but as a long time fan of both the Giants and baseball, I find the focus on data to the exclusion of everything else in the recommendations for decision making very one dimensional. In my opinion, that’s why teams that focus on data like the Dodgers get close but can never quite win the big games. Now the Giants have the GM who had all kinds of talent in LA but his teams had no soul and didn’t work for each other. There is a role for data and that is the way of the future in baseball, but fans also want to watch a team that works together and tries hard and has chemistry. I think that’s one reason why Bochy is leaving and it’s apparent when you watch. Also, your podcast is 100% aimed at male fans, including your gross ads. There are a lot of women baseball nerds like me who have season tickets, keep score at games and follow statistics but still enjoy a team where the players stay for more than a season and get involved in the community. I probably won’t listen next season. Maybe I’ll start my own podcast.
