“David Locke hates his daily listeners. It’s one thing to record from your van before hitting the slopes, but the eating, the chewing, the mouthbreathing, like he has just climbed a flight of stairs, it’s unacceptable. He has resources. He has created a podcast brand that doubtless has interns that could edit it to an acceptable level. He’s a radio play-by-play announcer. He has to know how his audio quality is totally unprofessional. And beyond that, he sounds like your friend who you know barely passed high school math when talking about stats and analytics. Obsessing over screen assists, or his custom draft analysis (that somehow doesn’t include the historically most reliable shooting statistic, free throw rate). It’s great that he created a viable podcast brand, but his position as Jazz employee creates obvious conflicts of interest and he has sacrificed honesty in his coverage too many times to maintain that.”
