First of all, I’ve been a fan of yours for many years and always enjoy your takes on our beloved Detroit sports. Actually worked with you at WDFN 1130am The Fan, back when the daily show lineup consisted of The Sports Doctors with Terry and Art, and of course the Stoney & Wojo show...I was just the intern but never forget how nice you always were to me! You even taught me how to write the sports updates you always did on-air....being such a passionate die hard sports fan, you and Rona made it a blast coming in everyday, so thank you Matt!
Secondly, are my eyes seeing what I think my eyes are seeing??
I’m getting the feeling that something special is happening with our Lions. Over the last 4 games the first thing I started to notice was not only the depth is a little better than I thought... but my goodness, our sideline to sideline speed and coverage on the back end is incredible Matt!
Bob Quinn, or as you refer to him as “The Maestro”(Seinfeld lines r quite fantastic)!! But what our GM has done in 2 years, reshaping our roster and making incredibly smart draft choices, by selecting perfect scheme fit players for this system! I mean FINALLY it seems we have the a GM with a football mind that is calculating and knows exactly what this organization needs!
For the first time in my life, this team seems it has a unity and a togetherness that you only see with most successful teams, that make deep postseason runs! But I’ve never felt our lions ever had that until now.
Yes I know it’s only week 4...and yes I’ve been kicked in the nuts year after year just hoping, wishing & praying this team is gonna bring a winner to the all the amazing fans & to the City of Detroit!! We’ve been waiting far too long so....”if my eyes are seeing what I thing they are” maybe we won’t be much longer.
