Alex Bregman's two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning broke a 2-2 tie and lifted the Houston Astros over the Miami Marlins 4-2 in the series opener at Minute Maid Park. Xavier Edwards' throwing error on a routine play gave the Astros an extra out, and Bregman made sure they would not waste it. Ronel Blanco pitched beautifully for the 'Stros, giving up just two runs on four hits in seven innings. He struck out seven and waked just one. The 6-3' righty retired 17 Marlins in a row at one point. Jazz Chisholm, Jr., and Jesus Sanchez hit solo home runs for the Marlins, 32-59. Chisholm had two hits, a stolen base, and two runs scored. Bryan De La Cruz added two hits and an RBI. Trevor Rogers pitched pretty well for Miami, going 5 1/3 innings and allowing two runs on six hits. Bregman had three RBI's for the Astros, 47-44.
