The Miami Marlins took a 4-0 lead and outlasted the New York Mets 6-4 in their series opener in Miami. Jake Burger homered, doubled and drove in two runs to lead the Miami offense, and Nick Fortes added an RBI single in the eighth inning to add an important insurance run. Josh Bell added an RBI single, and Otto Lopez had a double and two runs scored. Jazz Chisholm, Jr., added two hits for the Marlins. He leads the team with 25 multi-hit games. Marlins Starter Edward Cabrera pitched four scoreless innings before the Mets got to him in the fifth. The right-hander with the electric stuff gave up two runs- one earned- on five hits in 4 2/3 innings. Jeff McNeil hit two home runs on a three-hit, three-RBI night for the Mets, 49-47.
