“For the thoughtful baseball fan. Alternate realities, hard truths, provocative topics. Don’t listen if you don’t want your values and preconceptions to be challenged. Sully is unabashedly biased in some ways, and that’s why I appreciate him. He’s refreshingly human and honest. He’s laceratingly funny, too. Best of all, he’s an absolute force of knowledge on the greatest American game.
-UPDATE, about a year later-
I’m listening less often nowadays. Partly to do with my need to listen to Fantasy Baseball Today from the young guys who run that show for CBS and do a great job. But Locked on MLB is becoming a bit tedious to listen to because of all the ads and the number of guests Sully has on. It seems to be Millard Thomas every other day. Or that H-Town guy. Nothing against Millard Thomas, it’s just that I came from the days of Sully Baseball Daily and thought that was a perfect show where guests were infrequent but quality, and ads were nonexistent. I understand that things sometimes have to evolve over time, not always to our liking. C’est la vie. But podcasts exist in the past, present, and future, and I’m missing the past, not loving the present, and hoping for a better future for this show.”
