Okay BUT...the host is NOT a Padres Fan
I love the format and idea of ~20 minutes a day of Padres content. As far as that content goes, what the host has come up with so far has been reasonably well selected and relevant and COULD be worth listening to. Meaning, the topics are fine. The actual discussion of the topics is lacking. The host, while seemingly a baseball lover, knows pretty much nothing about the Padres. A fact which is readily apparent to even the casual Padres fan. It isn’t just the mispronunciation of player names, which is blatantly obvious, but also the references that the host looks to pull from during his chatter and conversations with guests. They are generic and lacking in detail and authenticity. Javier - If you aren’t actually going to be a fan...study up!! Now is a great time. Do some research. Watch some old games or player interviews. Read the heck out of whatever articles are out there. Do something to catch up to the familiarity of the Padres fans who are listening to you. Do it before the season actually starts. Do it while people have more time in their days to actually continue to tune in. I think the negative reviews stem partially from the posing as a Padres fan as much as the lack of knowledge. The tangential relationship to San Diego you have mentioned has not generated what you need to be believable as such. The public can smell it a mile away and we don’t love it. Lastly, for me personally there are two other things which could be better. One general and one specific. 1. I don’t know how relatable your New Jersey kid, just out of college, anime, living with your parents personality is to most San Diego Padres fans. To me...not at all. Maybe tone that down? Not that that they are bad things. You seem like a nice, smart kid overall. My guess is just that you won’t have that in common with a lot of the potential listeners. 2. Stop saying, “Still making that joke...” after the best pod that isn’t the Padres bit. The statement is fine/witty enough. I like it. Wouldn’t mind hearing it every day. Just own it and don’t waffle. I hope that you find this review constructive! Keep trying!

Was a little worried at first, but was anxious for a locked on show for my Team. The host takes feedback and is working to make the show better. The best part was listening to him get the pitchers names right the first time, after butchering for a few episodes.
