The Dallas Stars are the first Western Conference team to clinch a playoff spot after a 3-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks! Jamie Benn's game winning goal on the power play extended his goal streak to six straight games and his point streak to 8. He also ticked off another career milestone by hitting the 900 point total and is 2nd in franchise history to do it. He also picked up an assist on Roope Hintz's power play goal in the first. Another huge factor was Jake Oettinger, Oettinger made 25 saves and came up with big saves at crucial points in the game. He has now won four straight starts without allowing more than two goals and is starting to look like himself. The Stars can be invincible if he plays like he did last night against the Canucks. Defensemen Ryan Suter and Chris Tanev also had big nights and deserve a lot of praise for the effort in front of the net. Next up is Seattle, the finale of a four game road trip against a team that is 2-6-2 in their last 10. Dallas beat the Kraken back in December and have a chance for the sweep on the west coast trip.
