On today's episode of Locked On Stars, Joey explores what categories or statistics a typical Stanley Cup Champion have with one another in the last decade or so. Then compares those numbers with the Dallas Stars this season and the weight of each of the categories. Jake Oettinger playing as a top 10 goaltender, the Stars are top 10 in corsi % at 5 on 5 bode well for the Stars, but not having a top 10 scorer in the NHL does not. In the 2nd segment we highlight Roope Hintz who became the 2nd 30 goal scorer of the season for Dallas. His career high is 37 which he reached twice in the previous season, but consistently is the best two way forward for the Stars season after season. With the great play of Wyatt Johnston and Jamie Benn, he has been lost in the shuffle some bit so we show him some love today. To finish off the episode, we preview tonight's game against the Buffalo Sabres. Oettinger made 47 saves in the first meeting back in February to carry the Stars to a 2-1 victory. Tage Thompson has the hot hand for Buffalo with 10 points in his last 5, he will be the main focus for the Stars who's magic number is down to four to clinch the Central Division title.
